Sebuah panduan untuk membuat oposisi tesis berstandar internasional. Pembuatan oposisi tesis adalah merupakan tugas yg mandatory dan bersifat umum di dunia pendidikan Eropa. Pelajar dididik supaya ‘melek peradaban dan penelitian yang ada. Tugas ini akan mendorong pelajar untuk lebih mau mencari tahu, ingin lebih banyak membaca dan dapat memberikan saran, comment, kritisasi terhadap sebuah tesis dan keadaan sekitar.
Indonesia seharusnya menerapkan teknik pengajaran seperti ini sejak dini, untuk melahirkan generasi muda yang kritis, peka dan tanggap terhadap perkembangan Iptek dan lingkungan.
Ayo, bapak/ibu guru….mari kita adopsi dan kembangkan teknik ini…:)
Comment : pada awalnya saya pribadi males karena disini kita diposisikan seperti penguji sehingga harus tahu dan baca secara keseluruhan (tebal2 bro…halamanya !!). Tapi, setelah masuk kita akan lebih tertarik untuk eksplore dan berdikusi intensif, terlebih ini merupakan tugas berpasangan dan kemudian hasil oposisi ini akan dipaparkan/dipresentasikan untuk mendapatkan tanggapan balik dari pembuat papaer ataupun peserta lain. well, it’s great….. ‘n challenging…..!! 🙂

THESIS OPPOSITION INSTRUCTIONSÂ FOR THE MASTERS PROGRAM
IN INTERNATIONAL AND EURPEAN RELATIONS
You should prepare your opposition in the following way:
- First, the author will be given the chance to point out any mistakes in the thesis, such asspelling mistakes, incorrect references etc.
- You should then inform the seminar group of the way that you will organise your opposition.
- You should present a short description of the contents of the thesis, its aims, methods,theoretical approaches, and results etc.
- Next you should point out any formal mistakes (spelling, grammar, references etc). If thereare many mistakes you should only give a few examples, and instead prepare a list of themall and give it to the author after the opposition.
- You should comment on the choice of topic, and its relevance for International andEuropean Studies in a broader perspective.
- You should discuss the theoretical approach, its strengths and weaknesses, and its suitabilityfor the topic.
- You should comment on the choice of methods and the suitability of those methods for theaim of the thesis.
- You should comment on the empirical material that the author has utilised and discuss any possible problems with that choice.
- You should discuss the results and if these are reasonable considering the empirical materialand theory.
- You should discuss the analysis and conclusions, and if the theoretical approach has beensufficiently utilised in these.
- You should discuss if the aims of the thesis have been achieved.
- Finally you should comment on the overall quality of the proposal, and suggest anyimprovements that you feel can be made.
